It has been almost two years since the beginning of the Klimapolis project, with successful interactions between groups in Brazil and Germay, and also new partners joining the project. On 21-24 May 2019, at the Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences (IAG) of the University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil, Klimapolis organised its Third Workshop which closes the project’s Phase I and prepares starts preparations to Phase II. Following the first two workshops that were focused on governance and climate services, the Third workshop focused on modelling activities developed by Klimapolis groups. These activities encompass studies of regional climate, air quality and hydrology. Invited experts also presented recent studies on extreme events, particularly related to precipitation and flooding. Participants also took part in planning sessions designed to brainstorm future activities, projects and partnerships.
